Profile of the Cartoonist Shekhar Gurera
An Indian editorial cartoonist, illustrator and graphic designer, Chander Shekhar Gurera (full name) is well known for his one line commentary on India's political and social trends through his daily pocket cartoons. While being a science student he made his debut in 1984 as a freelancer.
Shekhar Gurera Is popular for hitting the funny bone with his quirky cartoons and illustrations. Whether it is Current Affairs of present political scenario of the ruling Govt. Party, the Union Budget & Elections or the Social issues of Demonetization, Inflation & Poverty, Gurera's cartoons always hit the nail on the head. He got recognition in the form of several honors, awards, including the chance to represent India.
Gurera's daily pocket cartoons appear in several leading English, Hindi, Urdu and regional language daily newspapers. He remains associated with The Hind Samachar Ltd (Punjab Kesari, Jagbani, Hind Samachar & Navodaya Times), NavaBharat, Central Chronicle, Navajyoti, Sanmarg, Investors India, Web18 etc.
In past he also worked for The Times of India group (TOI, NBT, ST, Dinman Times, Sarika, Vama, CCT etc in 1988-89), Indian Express group (IE, JS etc in 1989-91), Hindustan Times Group (HT, Dainik etc in 1991-96), The Pioneer(1991-2013) with his editorial cartoon for their main papers and magazine sections.

Honored with Haryana Garima Award 2019 as Icon of Haryana at Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon.
Coordinated KARGIL KARTOONS (a collection of cartoon in a book & a series of exhibition), in which various leading cartoonists drawn on the spot caricatures of the Army Jawans who were passing through the New Delhi railway station on their way to the Front. He himself joined to sketch caricatures as a token of their collective solidarity with the Indian Army, fighting in the difficult terrains of Kashmir and later also coordinated and participated the chain exhibition at New Delhi, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Patna and Indore. : Click Here
